Description
TS Maybe with other sailing ships passing St Anthony Lighthouse during the Parade of Sail at the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival.
Tall Ship MAYBE is a traditional Dutch sailing ketch, launched in 1933 and was designed for round the world cruising. In recent years she has been completely restored by her current owner and returned to sailing in 2007.
Maybe was once owned by Jan Jacob Van Rietschoten, father of the flying Dutchman, Cornelis ‘Conny’ Van Rietschoten, the only skipper to win the Whitbread Round the World Race twice.
Tall Ship MAYBE took part in the first ever Tall Ships Race in 1956. She is now one of the few boats that took part in that first race to still be competing in the International Tall Ship Races.
On sail training voyages TS Maybe sails with a total of 14 trainees and 4 crew members.
