Three famous ships for very different reasons all in Falmouth Bay together.
Once she finished service as an Oakley Class Lifeboat, James and Catherine Macfarlane in the forground was for many years on display at the Land's End complex in the far west of Cornwall. Many children have climbed on her over the years but now she has been restored and refloated.
MS The World cruise ship was built in 2002 and is the world's largest privately-owned residentil cruise vessel and is owned by its residents. A very up-market houseboat.
The three mast schooner Atlantic was a long time holder of the world record for the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean under sail, this one hundred and eighty-five foot schooner originally designed by William Gardner in 1903 has been relaunched and is sailing once more, here taking part in the second day of the inaugural Richard Mille Cup race in Falmouth Bay off the south coast of Cornwall on 12th June 2023.
