Description
Sennen surf. The September weather in Cornwall was spectacular, especially by the sea in Sennen Cove.
The harbour wall breakwater in Sennen Cove was constructed in 1908. The breakwater provides shelter from southwesterly seas for the small fishing harbour and the lifeboat station.
There is a brass plaque built into the wall which reads
"This stone was placed here by the FISHERMEN of The COVE to remind future generations that this BREAKWATER was built by PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTIONS raised by the untiring efforts of COLONEL H.W.WILLIAMS of St IVES, J.P. to whome and to all subscribers THE COVERS owe a great debt of gratitude.
July, 1908"
