Artist's Description
An image of a traditional Cornish tin mine with coloured texture overlay.
Wheal Prosper Mine is dramatically situated on the cliff tops of Rinsey, over-looking Rinsey Cove and Porthcew Beach, 3 miles from Portleven.
The elegant chimney stack was built from slate or 'killas' from the quarry a little further up the hillside, and it was strengthened with granite quoins, or cornerstones, with a 30-inch cylinder engine pumping the workings to adit level.
The engine house opened in about 1860 but was anything but prosperous.
Rinsey Mine as it is also known only worked for six years between 1860-1866, producing mainly tin with a little copper from the 'Porthcew Lode'.

About Terri Waters
Hello, I am Terri Waters, born in London UK in the last century, now happily settled in Mylor Bridge, Cornwall. Every morning when I pull back my curtains there is a whole new day asking to be explored and I can't wait to grab my camera, get on my bicycle and see where the road takes me. As a designer I venture into digital art every now and again. A change is as good as a rest for my legs and my bike. Sometimes an idea pops into my head from nowhere and I can't wait to produce an image to convey it to the outside world. Would you like your own photographs made perfect or your own works of art given a new twist for more variety of prints from your originals?
