Description
The Pepper Pot daymark at the cliff edge on Lighthouse Hill Portreath North Cornwall.
Built in 1846 as a location marker to passing shipping. The Pepper Pot was also used as a coastguard lookout and huer's hut. The huer's job was to watch for the tell tale signs of pilchard shoals and then alert the townsfolk to their arrival.
