Artist's Description
The Lemon Arms Mylor Bridge Cornwall at Christmas time. All the lights are on and the pub is looking very festive.
The ancient Manors of Restronguet, Trythance and Trewothack Mylor; St. Keverne, St. Anthony-in-Meneage were purchased 1786 by Sir William Lemon, son of a very successful miner, also called William.
William the elder is said to have worked in the local mines, soon becoming manager of a tin-smelting house at Chyandour near Penzance. In partnership with Mr. George Blewett and Mr. Dewen of Marazion, he began working a mine on Lord Godolphin's land, called Wheal Fortune.
Wheal Fortune provided Mr. Lemon with a fortune said to be £10,000; he moved to Truro, and started working mines in the parish of Gwennap. He soon became one of the principal tin smelters and merchants in the county.
About Terri Waters
Hello, I am Terri Waters, born in London UK in the last century, now happily settled in Mylor Bridge, Cornwall. Every morning when I pull back my curtains there is a whole new day asking to be explored and I can't wait to grab my camera, get on my bicycle and see where the road takes me. As a designer I venture into digital art every now and again. A change is as good as a rest for my legs and my bike. Sometimes an idea pops into my head from nowhere and I can't wait to produce an image to convey it to the outside world. Would you like your own photographs made perfect or your own works of art given a new twist for more variety of prints from your originals?
