The unspoilt fishing village with its picturesque double harbour is protected by massive harbour walls and surrounded by fascinating old buildings. As the most southerly working port in the United Kingdom the harbour faces south west into the prevailing wind and during winter storms the waves crash over the sea defences attracting visitors to the town to watch, hear and taste the salty sea.
