Description
The flowers of the chanaenomeles japonica has many names. Japanese Flowering Quince, Maule's Flowering Quince, Sargent's Flowering Quince.
This beautiful shrub originated in Japan, is now in my garden and blooms profusely in the spring with clusters of salmon-pink to soft orange flowers both before and after the leaves come out. Small, fragrant, greenish yellow, apple-shaped fruits with a red blush ripen in the autumn and can be used for preserves and jellies.
