Description
On a clear day Carn Brea Monument can be seen from almost anywhere in Mid Cornwall standing as a reminder of its mining past.
Built in 1836, this 90-foot-high granite column was our tribute to Francis Basset, philanthropist and member of the most important mining family in the area.
More impressive however is the view from the top of the carn. On a really clear day you can see both coasts and almost everything in between.
This is the view across the town of Redruth towards the hills of St Austell.
