Artist's Description
Alongside the Red Poppy Appeal there is now a Purple Poppy Appeal commemorating the Animal Victims of War.
Throughout the history of human conflicts, animals have been victims of war. During World War I, dogs and pigeons were used to deliver messages between front line trenches and further afield. Horses, donkeys and elephants have been used as beasts of burden, while a shocking array of animals - from bears to deer - have been kept as pets in the midst of battle. Today, animals continue to be used to detect explosives, and thousands suffer and die each year in laboratories, infected with biological or chemical agents, or deliberately shot.
The proceeds of any card sales of this image will go to an animal welfare charity.
About Terri Waters
Hello, I am Terri Waters, born in London UK in the last century, now happily settled in Mylor Bridge, Cornwall. Every morning when I pull back my curtains there is a whole new day asking to be explored and I can't wait to grab my camera, get on my bicycle and see where the road takes me. As a designer I venture into digital art every now and again. A change is as good as a rest for my legs and my bike. Sometimes an idea pops into my head from nowhere and I can't wait to produce an image to convey it to the outside world. Would you like your own photographs made perfect or your own works of art given a new twist for more variety of prints from your originals?
