Thrift flowers are covering the cliffs above the monkey house pier.
The Monkey House dates back to the days when Portreath was a busy port, shipping copper out and coal in. Whilst the harbour was important the entrance was still treacherous. The Monkey House, although not known as that in those days was used for shelter by the harbour pilots who would wave flags or lanterns to guide ships into harbour, or warn away if conditions were too dangerous.
The small tower overlooking the harbour is known either as the Pepper Pot or The Lighthouse but it has never had a light.
Hello, I am Terri Waters, born in London UK in the last century, now happily settled in Mylor Bridge, Cornwall. Every morning when I pull back my curtains there is a whole new day asking to be explored and I can't wait to grab my camera, get on my bicycle and see where the road takes me. As a designer I venture into digital art every now and again. A change is as good as a rest for my legs and my bike. Sometimes an idea pops into my head from nowhere and I can't wait to produce an image to convey it to the outside world. Would you like your own photographs made perfect or your own works of art given a new twist for more variety of prints from your originals? Improvements to your own family portrait photographs by adjusting...
