Description
The views across Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor from Kit Hill near Callington in Cornwall are amazing on a clear day. It is the highest point in the Tamar Valley near the boarder of Cornwall and Devon and the English channel, nearly 30 miles away, can be seen in this image.
Isambard Kingdom Brunel built a railway bride across the river Tamar in 1856. His Royal Albert Bridge still carries the Cornish main line railway today and in 1961 a road bridge was opened alongside it to take traffic across the river which separates Cornwall from the rest of England.
