Description
Probably the most iconic rock formation in Cornwall, The Cheesewring on Bodmin Moor.
Perched on the edge of a quarry on the moors, this granite tor, once thought to have been made by Druids, takes its name from the process used to create cider. Bags of apples, also known as cheeses, were pressed together to extract the juice. The rock stack was created by erosion over millions of years, the wind and rain eating into the cracks formed when the rock solidified.
