Description
One man and dog sailing into Flushing with The Roseland and St Anthony Head and lighthouse in the distance.
The quaint and quiet village of Flushing sits opposite the busy port of Falmouth on the south coast of Cornwall. It was settled by a Dutch community in the 17th century who came from Vlissingen in Holland, also known as Flushing.
The impressive Queen Anne style houses are large and elegant for such a small place down a dead end road but they were built for ships’ captains who favoured the peace of Flushing to bustling and at that time smelly, town of Falmouth a short boat ride across the Penryn River.
