Description
It was high tide and the sun was going down as we drove along Penzance Promenade in Cornwall just as a wave 'overtopped' the sea wall.
Overtopping is a regular occurrence when the moon is full and the tide is high with a good wind behind it. On high spring tides the sea often creeps up, even in the less coastal areas like creeks and tidal rivers even without a stiff breeze but there's nothing like a good crash and splash on the coast, as long as you are ready for it.
