Living relics from a bye-gone age, the Falmouth Working Boats make an impressive sight, and there can be few who are not inspired by the beauty of these powerful gaff-rigged cutters under sail.
Being sheltered from the prevailing south westerly winds the River Fal is a haven for yachtsmen. During the Winter months the Falmouth working boats with their distinctive red sails can often still be seen dredging for oysters under sail alone, as they have done for centuries.
