Description
High on the rugged cliffs above Chapel Porth beach near St Agnes on the north Cornwall cliffs stands the architectural ruin of Wheal Coates Towanroath engine house, one of Cornwall's most scenic and iconic mines. The area around Wheal Coates tin mine was worked since the medieval period, but most of the present ruins date from 1870.
