Description
Westgate was on of the main entrances to the city and Henry V and his men passed through here on his way to Agincourt in 1415. The Pilgrim Fathers followed a couple of hundred years later
Tudor Merchants Hall is now known as Westgate Hall. Once situated in St. Michael's Square where it was the town's fish market and cloth hall. It was dismantled in 1634 and the timbers were then used to construct the lovely building you see here. It was then used as a store, warehouse and archaeological Store before becoming a venue for conferences, concerts and wedding receptions.
