Description
Veryan is a picture postcard, chocolate box, picturesque village on The Roseland Peninsula on the south coast of Cornwall.
There are five Roundhouses marking the entrances to Veryan. This one is on Tollyfrank Hill.
Originally built by the local land owner 'Parson Trist' in about 1817, the cottages are sited at the entrances to the village and these unique, private thatched circular cottages have become a unique feature of Veryan.
It was thought that the round shape would guard the village from evil as there were no corners in which the devil could hide.
