Description
This is the Scillonian passenger ferry coming home on a lovely evening past St Michael's Mount on it's way into Penzance Harbour.
The Scillonian III passenger ferry sails between Penzance and the Isles of Scilly on a daily basis for 8 months of the year taking as little as 2 hours and 40 minutes in good weather, carrying up to 485 passengers per journey plus cargo.
The crossing offers spectacular views of the Cornish coastline, the quaint fishing coves of Newlyn and Mousehole, the world famous open air Minack Theatre, the Land's End peninsula and Wolf Rock Lighthouse before sailing to the clear, turquoise waters of the Scilly Islands.
Purpose built for the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company and entering service in May 1977, she is the third passenger ship to carry the Scillonian name.
