Description
The door to the detached bell tower of St Feoca Church in the centre of the picturesque village of Feock in Cornwall
The plaque is inscribed with the words "The bells of St Feock Church. All cast by John Warner & Sons London 1880."
This is the only original part of the thirteenth century church as it was almost completely rebuilt between 1840-1876. It contains three bells cast from one larger medieval bell. They were retuned and rehung in 2019.
It has been suggested that the tower may be detached because it could also have served as a strategic lookout tower over the Fal River and Carrick Roads.
It is reputed to be the last church to conduct its service in the Cornish language.
