Description
The Spinnaker Tower on Portsmouth's Harbour side dominates the landscape of one of the world's most famous ports.
It is the centrepiece of the Millennium Project for the Renaissance of Portsmouth Harbour.
In contrast, nestling in the shadow of the tower is the Old Customs House.
The building, constructed in 1790 is a Scheduled Monument and is believed to be one of the first examples of a specifically designed office building.
Until 1986 The Old Customs House was the shore establishment of HMS Vernon for over 110 years, a centre for innovation and invention in the Royal
Navy and the "home" of the torpedo and mine.
It is now owned by a brewery chain and is a pub abd restaurant.
