Description
On a clear day the top of Carn Brea in Camborne has magnificent views when both the north and south coasts of Cornwall can be seen.
The weathered granite rocks are fascinating and many a tale has been told of the huge boulders scattered around the carn. The Cup and Saucer Rock on the right of this image is an ancient large flattish rock with several deep basins
Carnkie is a semi-rural village located between the towns of Redruth and Camborne which is on the southern side of lofty Carn Brea hill. A distinctive monument to Francis Basset, Lord of Dunstaville, whose family played an important role in the mining industry for many centuries is at the summit and can be seen from miles around.
