Description
The Small Heath is an inconspicuous brown and orange butterfly that flies only in sunshine and rarely settles more than a metre above the ground.
This one, and many others, was seen on brambles on the grassland along the banks of Mylor Creek but they can be seen on grassland where there are fine grasses, heathland, downland and coastal dunes, road verges, moorland and in woodland rides.
