Description
On an autumnal afternoon in Polperro, the sky clears as the sun disappears behind Chapel Rock.
Polperro is a 13th century fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall. Originally belonging to the ancient Raphael manor it is mentioned in the Domesday Book.
Fishing has been the principal occupation of its inhabitants for centuries, and pilchards were often caught in abundance to be sold far and wide.
In latter years Polperro has become one of the most popular resorts in Britain for artists and visitors alike.
