Description
Cornwall's scenery is characterised by its geology, particularly its granite, which shapes its uplands and moors. The Land's End peninsula consists entirely of granite which gives it its unique appeal, rocky cliffs carved into pillars and blocks by time, inland moors with carns and craggy peaks.
Anyone who has walked the South West Coast Path between Sennen Cove and Land's End will recognise this spectacular granite rock formation.
An Iron Age cliff castle or promontory fort, some 2,000 years old is perched on the cliff edge with the Atlantic Ocean crashing below and prehistoric fields behind it.
