Description
Out in the wilds of far West Penwith, at 5.7 degree west, is a sleepy little village names St Just or Lannust to give it it's proper Cornish name.
It is a village steeped in mining history but as the mines closed the village grew dormant, until the 3rd Saturday in July every year that is, when it erupts with music and dancing for the annual feast day.
The Lafrowda Festival first took place in 1996 developing from a music festival into what is now a two week colourful community arts festival.
More recently, it has come to stand for community co-operation, a celebration of local heritage, and a showcase for some of the finest artistic, theatrical and musical talent in the area.
