Description
Fishing Cove Gunwalloe and the Porthleven are connected at low tide by a stunning mile long steeply shelving shingle and sand beach. The fine pebbles slide away from you when walking so it isn't an easy walk but well worth it providing you check the tide times
This beautiful stretch of coastline is one of the most dangerous in Cornwall. With the combination of powerful waves, strong undercurrents and the steep slippery shingle bank backed by steep cliffs it is no surprise that swimming here is not allowed.
The hill behind Porthleven is a magnet for photographers during storms as the huge waves batter the cliffs with the spray regularly overtopping the luxurious properties along the cliff top.
