Description
In the woodland near the pond in the beautiful gardens of Enys House Penryn is the old waterwheel and hydraulic ram. The wheel dates back to the 1820s and was installed to pump water up to a reservoir near Enys House. After the previous Enys House had burnt down the owner wanted to have water on tap to fight any future fire.
These days it sits quietly awaiting attention and, as it still rotates, half the men in the village would love to give it a whirl.
