Description
The Clarendon Building is an iconic sight in the historic centre of Oxford.
The imposing neo-classical rectangular building was built in 1711–13 to the designs of Nicholas Hawksmoor to house the Oxford University Press, which had previously been occupying a large room over the ceiling of the Sheldonian Theatre.
It is the impressive gateway to the Bodlian Library.
