Description
The picturesque village of Flushing near Falmouth in Cornwall at Christmas.
Flushing is a picturesque coastal village facing Falmouth across the Penryn River. An arm of the Carrick Roads, it is reputed to be one of the warmest Villages in England.
Originally named ‘Nankersey’ meaning ‘valley of the reed swamp’, it was renamed by immigrants from ‘Vlissingen’ in the Netherlands, who settled here in the 17th Century and built the three main Quays in the village.
