Description
In 1833, Princess Victoria visited Torquay for the first time, with modern day Victoria Parade named in honour of the place where the future queen first stepped ashore.
Torquay's waterfront is the focus of life in the town with a palm-lined promenade, seafront gardens, a lively harbour and an international marina.
The coastal illuminations along Torquay seafront are famous and can be seen across the whole bay. Many of the coastal parks, including Torre Abbey Gardens and Goodrington Promenade are transformed into a wonderful display of colour in the evenings and make for a wonderful and relaxing evening stroll before or after diner.
