Description
Ding Dong mine seen through the legs of Lanyon Quoit in the far west of Cornwall.
Situated in largely unpopulated and treeless Cornish landscape between Madron and Morvah, Lanyon Quoit, along with other Cornish dolmens, dates back to the Neolithic period (3500-2500BC), predating both the pyramids in Egypt and metal tools.
There is thought to have been a mine on the site of Ding Dong from ancient times. The present buildings date from between 1814 and 1878.
3rd place in the Fine Art America MONOLITHS contest after a tie for first place.
